Definition
DYOR is the crypto version of 'read the prospectus.' It also functions as a disclaimer: when someone shills a token and adds DYOR, they're saying 'I'm not responsible for your loss.' Fine — but it's still on you to actually do it.
For a memecoin, DYOR isn't a whitepaper review. It's: check the contract (renounced? mint?), check the LP (locked or burned?), check the top 10 holders (concentration?), check the chart (who bought, who sold, what happened). Five tools, ten minutes, most of the scams filtered.
Examples
- “
DYOR turned up a hidden mint function — hard skip.
- “
Ten minutes on Rugcheck would have saved that trade.
- “
'DYOR' after a paid shill is liability laundering.
