What is Cheems? (CHEEMS)

Cheems Token (CHEEMS) is a BNB Chain meme coin celebrating "Cheems," the lord of memes - a small, pitiful, helpless Shiba Inu. The project pays respect to everyone who has undergone various market dumps, project rugs, and collapses in the crypto market. Cheems is not about pump and dump; it's purely here to remind people who is the Lord of Memes. CHEEMS gives up permission to control the contract, has no tax income, no team reserves, absolutely no sources of income in any way, 100% dedicated to the market. The token can be used for swap, invest, and any ecosystem project on BNB Chain.

The Cheems meme starts with Balltze, a Shiba Inu who lived in Hong Kong with his owner. A 2017 photograph of Balltze looking skeptical and round-faced went viral online. Over the next several years, the image mutated into two major meme formats: the "m"-inserted speech bit ("cheemsburger") and the "Swole Doge vs. Cheems" format, where a hyper-muscular Shiba Inu argues with a soft, anxious one. Cheems was always the underdog. That is the character's whole role.

Balltze died on August 18, 2023 after a battle with cancer. The news was covered in tech and meme press, and tributes flooded every platform where the meme had lived. The token is an independent project built on the meme rather than an estate or a memorial.

CHEEMS itself launched on zkSync Era in 2023, distributed entirely by airdrop to about 65,000 early zkSync addresses. When zkSync activity dried up the project shut down the original contract, gave up its rights over it, and migrated holders one-for-one to BNB Chain in September 2024.
