How to Buy Toshi in 3 Steps

Follow this simple process to purchase Toshi safely and securely on any platform.

    1. 1. Choose an exchange (Coinbase for beginners, Binance for advanced)
    2. 2. Verify your account with ID
    3. 3. Deposit money and buy TOSHI. Most people start with Coinbase or Kraken.
    1

Choose an Exchange That Sells Toshi

A cryptocurrency exchange is like a digital marketplace where you can buy, sell, and trade cryptocurrencies like Toshi. Think of it as the Amazon or eBay for crypto.

You'll need to pick one that supports TOSHI and accepts your preferred payment method (like your bank account or credit card). Popular beginner-friendly options include Coinbase (easiest for new users), Kraken (good security), and Binance (more features but slightly complex).

Each exchange charges different fees, so it's worth comparing a few before you decide. Most exchanges will let you see their fees and supported coins before you sign up.

    2

    Create & Verify Account

Once you've chosen your exchange, you'll need to create an account just like signing up for any website. You'll provide your email address and create a password.

Next comes identity verification, which might sound intimidating but it's actually simple - you'll upload a photo of your driver's license or passport and sometimes take a selfie. This is required by law (called "Know Your Customer" or KYC) and helps protect both you and the exchange from fraud.

The whole process usually takes 5-15 minutes to complete, but verification can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple days depending on the exchange. You'll also want to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) which adds an extra security step using your phone - this is like having a second lock on your account.

    3

    Fund & Buy TOSHI

Now comes the exciting part - actually buying your Toshi! First, you'll need to add money to your exchange account. You can link your bank account (usually free but takes 3-5 days), use a debit card (instant but with fees), or credit card (instant but higher fees).

Once your money is in the exchange, look for TOSHI and click "Buy" or "Trade." You'll see the current price and can choose how much you want to purchase - you can buy any amount, even just $10 worth.

For beginners, a "market order" (buy at current price) is the simplest option. Review your order, click confirm, and congratulations - you now own Toshi! The coins will appear in your exchange wallet within seconds.

Should you buy TOSHI on a CEX or DEX?

    What is Toshi (TOSHI)?

Toshi (TOSHI) is an ERC-20 token on Base, the Ethereum layer 2 built by Coinbase. It is named after Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong's cat, whose own name comes from Satoshi Nakamoto. It has traded since August 2023, and the current contract has been in place since a migration on 9 October 2023. Supply is fixed at 420.69 billion, all of it circulating. US buyers have a direct route: Coinbase has listed TOSHI since January 2025, and Kraken and Binance.US carry it too. Outside the US, KuCoin, Bybit, Gate, Bitget, MEXC, WEEX, LBank and KCEX list it; Binance's main spot exchange does not. If you withdraw, choose the Base network. TOSHI also exists as a bridged token on BNB Chain, and sending one version to an address on the other network is an easy way to lose tokens. On-chain, most liquidity sits on Base DEXs: about $1.07 million in one Uniswap TOSHI/WETH pool on 15 September 2026, with more on Aerodrome. Fund a wallet such as MetaMask, Rabby or Coinbase's Base App with ETH on Base, then swap on Uniswap or through an aggregator such as 1inch. Paste the contract 0xAC1Bd2486aAf3B5C0fc3Fd868558b082a531B2B4 yourself and check it on Basescan rather than picking TOSHI from a search list. As of 15 September 2026 TOSHI had a market capitalization near $46.5 million and traded about 95% below its $0.00226 high of 26 January 2025. The contract charges no buy or sell tax and has no owner. It is still a memecoin with no cash flows; size any position so that losing all of it changes nothing for you.
