Axiom review: fees, memecoins and safety

    Last reviewed September 9, 2026

    Our verdict

Axiom is the default Solana memecoin terminal — it carries more than half of terminal volume — and the most feature-dense we track: new-launch feeds, wallet tracking, tweet monitoring and Hyperliquid perps behind one login. It is also expensive — a 1% base platform fee, netting 0.95% at the entry tier and 0.75% at the top, against roughly 0.05% on a CEX. Worth it if the tooling wins you entries; ruinous if you churn.

    Best for
Active Solana memecoin traders who buy launches within minutes and need the discovery and wallet-tracking tools to do it.
    Not for
Anyone buying an established coin to hold. Paying about 1% per side for DOGE or PEPE exposure makes no sense when a CEX or a plain DEX swap costs a fraction of that.

    In short

    • Platform fee starts at 1%, with a published cashback ladder taking the net fee from 0.95% (Wood) to 0.75% (Champion) plus SOL cashback.
    • Accounts that sign up through a referral link get a 10% discount on trading fees, per Axiom’s own referral documentation.
    • Sign up with email, Google or Phantom; Axiom generates an in-app wallet and shows you the recovery phrase, which you should also import into Phantom or Solflare.
    • Tooling covers Pulse for new launches, migration sniping, limit orders, wallet and trader tracking, tweet monitoring, staking of idle balances and perpetuals routed to Hyperliquid.

    Overview

Axiom is a browser trading terminal aimed at Solana memecoins, with newer and thinner support for BSC and Ethereum trades. It went through Y Combinator and its product surface is unusually broad for the category: Pulse surfaces tokens as they launch and migrate, Trader Scan and wallet tracking let you follow specific addresses, a tweet monitor ties social posts to tokens, and perpetuals are routed to Hyperliquid from the same account. If your edge comes from seeing things early, that is a coherent bundle.

The cost is the headline you must not skip. Axiom charges a 1% base platform fee, and its fee page describes a multiplier ladder that returns part of that as SOL cashback: 0.95% net at Wood (0.05% cashback) improving to 0.75% net at Champion (0.25% cashback). Signing up through a referral link adds a stated 10% discount on trading fees. Compare that to 0.05% taker on MEXC and it is clear this is priced as an execution advantage on tokens that do not exist anywhere else yet, not as a cheap way to buy.

Onboarding is the other thing to understand. You can register with an email address, Google or Phantom; Axiom then provisions a wallet and shows you its recovery phrase. That is convenient and also means a terminal login now stands between you and your keys — which is exactly why Axiom itself recommends importing the recovery phrase into a standard wallet like Phantom, Rabby or Solflare so you always have direct access. Treat the Axiom wallet as a hot trading wallet and keep the size of it deliberate.

    Memecoin coverage

Coverage is on-chain rather than curated: anything with a Solana liquidity pool is tradable within seconds of launch, including tokens that will never reach a centralised exchange.

Pulse and the migration tools target the launchpad lifecycle — new pools, bonding-curve graduations and the first minutes of an open market, which is where terminals earn their fee if they earn it at all.

Established memecoins (DOGE, SHIB, PEPE) are the wrong fit here. They trade on CEX order books for a tenth of the cost, and Axiom adds no discovery value on a coin everyone already owns.

Perpetuals are not Axiom’s own market: the interface routes to Hyperliquid, so contract availability and the base fee schedule are Hyperliquid’s. Axiom is reported to add a small builder fee per perp trade on top, which it does not document — so the same position costs slightly more here than on Hyperliquid directly.

    What it costs

    • The platform fee is roughly twenty times a CEX taker fee. On a round trip you pay it twice, so a 2% move is not a winning trade.
    • Cashback is paid in SOL and scales with cumulative volume through the multiplier tiers — it reduces the fee, it does not remove it.
    • A referred sign-up receives a stated 10% discount on trading fees. We publish an affiliate link, so we are paid a share of the net fee when you use it; the discount and the commission come from the same fee pool.
    • Solana priority fees and slippage settings are separate from the platform fee. A default 0.001 SOL priority fee is cheap; a wide slippage limit on a volatile launch is not, because you eat the difference.
    • Failed transactions still cost network fees. On congested launches that adds up faster than traders expect.

    Pros

    • Deepest tooling of the terminals we review: new-launch feed, migration actions, limit orders, wallet and trader tracking, tweet monitor.
    • One account covers Solana spot plus Hyperliquid perpetuals.
    • Email or Google onboarding with an in-app wallet, so a first trade does not require installing a wallet extension.
    • Recovery phrase is exportable, so you are not locked into the platform.
    • Cashback ladder and a referral discount reduce an otherwise steep fee.

    Cons

    • Around 1% per trade is roughly twenty times a CEX taker fee, and the cashback ladder only closes part of that gap.
    • Convenience onboarding puts a web login in front of a wallet holding your funds.
    • Fake Axiom domains are a known phishing pattern for popular terminals — one wrong click drains the trading wallet.
    • The feature surface encourages overtrading, which is precisely what the fee model punishes.
    • Perp availability and pricing are Hyperliquid’s, so Hyperliquid’s jurisdictional restrictions apply to that side of the account.

    How to buy on Axiom

    1. 1

Reach the site through a link you trust

Terminals are a favourite phishing target. Bookmark the real domain and never arrive from a search advert or a Telegram message.

    2. 2

Sign up and record the recovery phrase

Register with email, Google or Phantom, then set a password. Axiom shows a recovery phrase for the wallet it creates — write it down offline and import it into Phantom or Solflare so you can always reach the funds without Axiom.

    3. 3

Fund it as a hot wallet, not a vault

Deposit only the SOL you intend to trade with this session, or buy it in the app — Axiom’s Coinbase integration covers up to $500 a week without identity verification. Keep long-term positions in a separate wallet, ideally behind a hardware wallet.

    4. 4

Set slippage and priority fee before your first buy

A high slippage cap turns a volatile launch into a bad fill; too low a priority fee means failed transactions during congestion. Adjust both deliberately rather than leaving presets.

    5. 5

Check the token before you buy it

Verify the contract address against an independent source, and look at holder distribution and liquidity. A terminal makes buying fast; it does not make the token real.

    6. 6

Do the fee arithmetic on every plan

Around 1% in and 1% out means you need roughly a 2% move before you break even. Size and hold accordingly instead of scalping small ranges.

    Safety and risks

    • Phishing clones of trading terminals are common and effective. Only ever load Axiom from your own bookmark.
    • The in-app wallet is a hot wallet. Anything you would be upset to lose belongs somewhere else.
    • Export and store the recovery phrase offline, and never enter it into a website, a support chat or a "wallet verification" prompt.
    • Launch-stage tokens include outright scams — honeypots, mint authorities left open, and liquidity that disappears. Speed of entry is not diligence.
    • The Hyperliquid-routed perp side carries leverage risk and Hyperliquid’s own restrictions on who may use the interface.

Nothing here is financial advice. Memecoins are high-risk and can go to zero; only risk what you can afford to lose.

    Alternatives to Axiom

    • Photon A comparable Solana terminal you can connect an existing wallet to, if you would rather not hold funds in a platform-generated wallet.
    • BONKbot Telegram-based execution for the same launch-stage tokens, with a simpler interface and a similar fee model.
    • MEXC For coins that are already listed, a CEX order book costs a fraction of a terminal fee.
    • Hyperliquid The venue behind Axiom’s perpetuals — trade there directly and skip the extra layer.

    Frequently asked questions

    How much does Axiom charge?

The base platform fee is 1%. Axiom’s fee page publishes a multiplier ladder that nets 0.95% at the entry tier and 0.75% at the top, with 0.05%–0.25% returned as SOL cashback, and referred sign-ups get a stated 10% fee discount. Solana priority fees and slippage are separate.

    Is Axiom custodial?

Axiom shows you the recovery phrase for the wallet it creates, so you can move the funds without the platform. In practice a web login sits in front of that wallet, which is why importing the phrase into Phantom or Solflare and keeping the balance small are both sensible.

Can I trade perpetuals on Axiom?

Yes, but they are routed to Hyperliquid rather than being Axiom’s own market. Hyperliquid’s fee schedule and its restrictions on who may use the interface apply, and Axiom is reported to add a small builder fee per trade on top.

Is Axiom cheaper than a CEX?

No — it is roughly twenty times more expensive per trade. The justification is access: a token minutes old is not on any exchange. For anything already listed, the exchange is the cheaper venue.

What is the biggest risk with a terminal like Axiom?

Losing the trading wallet, usually to a phishing clone of the site or to a malicious token interaction — not the market. Bookmark the real domain, keep the wallet small, and treat every unsolicited link as hostile.
