What is Just a Chill Guy? (CHILLGUY)

Just a Chill Guy (CHILLGUY) is an SPL token on Solana, launched through Pump.fun on 15 November 2024 and named after the Chill Guy character drawn by artist Phillip Banks. As of 15 September 2026 it traded at about $0.0119, for a market capitalization near $11.8 million, roughly 98.2% below its November 2024 high.

The simplest route is a centralized exchange. CoinGecko shows active CHILLGUY spot pairs on Bybit, KuCoin, Bitget, Gate, MEXC and LBank, on smaller venues such as Bitunix and KCEX, and on Gemini against US dollars. Open an account, pass identity checks, fund it and buy on the CHILLGUY/USDT or CHILLGUY/USD pair. Coinbase and Kraken do not list it, and Binance offers only a perpetual futures contract, not spot.

The on-chain route is a Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare, funded with SOL, then a swap on Jupiter or directly on Raydium, where the main CHILLGUY/SOL pool held about $1.37 million on 15 September 2026. When you withdraw CHILLGUY from an exchange, choose the Solana network; the token exists only on Solana.

Verify the mint address Df6yfrKC8kZE3KNkrHERKzAetSxbrWeniQfyJY4Jpump on Solscan before every swap. A separate Ethereum token also trades under the CHILLGUY ticker, and dozens of Chill Guy copies exist on Solana. The artist has said he does not endorse or consent to crypto use of his work, so this is a memecoin built on disputed imagery with no product behind it: size any position on the assumption that it can go to zero.

Phillip Banks posted the Chill Guy drawing in October 2023. It spread slowly at first, then took off on TikTok in 2024 as a caption format for staying unbothered. On 15 November 2024 an anonymous deployer launched CHILLGUY through Pump.fun, and the token graduated to a Raydium pool the same day. Within five days its market capitalization passed $500 million; Decrypt put the peak at about $510 million on Wednesday 20 November, as TikTok users with no crypto background posted about buying it.

On 21 November 2024 Banks wrote on X that Chill Guy had been copyrighted, legally, and that he would issue takedowns on for-profit uses over the following days. He said he would not go after brands using the meme as a trend, and named unauthorized merchandise and, in his words, shitcoins, as his targets. Decrypt reported that CHILLGUY fell 54% to about $220 million within two hours. The same evening El Salvador's president Nayib Bukele posted a Chill Guy image without mentioning the token, and Protos reported that the market capitalization rose from $300 million to $500 million in 90 minutes. Banks later described harassment and a doxxing attempt, and stepped back from X for a time.

Binance Futures opened a CHILLGUY perpetual contract with up to 75x leverage on 27 November 2024, the same day CoinGecko records the all-time high of $0.6575. Two later incidents showed how tightly the price was tied to news about the artist. On 12 December 2024 Banks's X account was compromised and posted a fake announcement that he had licensed the IP to the CHILLGUY team; Decrypt reported a 22% jump and then a fall of more than 25% within 30 minutes once the posts were exposed. On 24 December 2024 a Reddit post falsely claimed Banks had copied the character from a children's magazine; the magazine had been published after Chill Guy, and Plagiarism Today reported that CHILLGUY fell at least 20% during the episode. By 15 September 2026 the price was about $0.0119, roughly 98.2% below the high.

The community around the token is separate from the meme itself. Chill Guy belongs to TikTok and Instagram, where brands, sports teams and ordinary users posted it through 2024, and most of those people have never heard of the token. The token's own channels are the X account and Telegram group @chillguycto and the site chillguy.io, run as a community takeover with no named team. CoinGecko's project description claims more than 600 million TikTok videos about the meme; that figure is the project's, not an audited one.

The relationship with the artist defines the culture more than any campaign. Banks has asked brands to credit him and has said he will never endorse crypto projects using the character, while the token's holders keep trading an image they do not own. Commentators pointed out at the time that an anonymous, permissionless token is hard to take down. That is true of the contract. It is less true of the exchange listings, social accounts and marketing that carry the image.

CHILLGUY is an SPL token, so it needs a Solana wallet: Phantom, Solflare and Backpack all hold it. For a position you would not want to lose, pair the wallet with a Ledger so the signing key never touches the browser.

Solana wallets simulate a transaction before you sign it. Read the simulation, and treat any site offering CHILLGUY airdrops, staking or an official artist-licensed version as phishing: the token has no staking, and the artist has licensed nothing to it. There is no customer support and no reversal on Solana.

The case for CHILLGUY is reach. Chill Guy is one of the most recognized memes of 2024 well outside crypto, the Solana token is the largest and most liquid of the many Chill Guy coins, and it still has spot listings on Bybit, KuCoin, Bitget, Gate and Gemini plus a Binance futures market almost two years after launch. The pool is locked, the mint authority is revoked, and holders number in the hundreds of thousands.

The case against starts with ownership. The character belongs to an artist who has objected to crypto use of it, and any move he makes, or any false story about him, has moved the price by double digits in hours. The token is about 98% below its high, has no product or revenue and no named team. Nothing on this page predicts what the price does next.
